Tangled, Saturdays, Phoenix

Good nights come as a matter of course for Tangled regulars; a friendly crowd, bespoke music policy and perhaps the most understanding doorstaff in the city making for six hours of escapists heaven - if you're that way inclined - every Saturday. All-nighters hold a special thrall for the Tangled crowd, and residents nights often top guest appearances for dancefloor glee. The longest running club night in the city (eight years (sic) - count 'em!), Tangled's long-partying residents/promoters are best placed to deliver to the demands of their enthusiastic devotees. House and trance downstairs, or an increasingly adventurous breaks offer upstairs: wherever you choose to spend your six hours, there's a consistent supply to satisfy the demand for pummelling, funky, or full-on euphoric beats.

Building on the energy of the year, and the popular, trainer-breaking combo of longer opening hours and the rocking residents team, this New Year's Eve party will no doubt be a stomer. And a sellout, if previous events are anytrhing to go by. By opting for a residents party the promoters are making the night one of the most reasonably priced in the city (£13 for members, £20 on the door on the night), meaning no-one gets ripped off, and everyone's happy. And with the addition of the downstairs bar as the third floor till as late as licensing will allow, plus the cool darkness of the chill out, a nice balance of sweaty mayhem and blathering chat looks set to make this one to remember. Or else, depending on your constitution, spontaneously forget. But then, aren't they some of the best nights? You know when you've been Tangled.
