As Manchester City begin to remind people that there's more than one decent football team in the region, Manchester's club scene is exhibiting similar signs of a renaissance.
A measure of the city's regeneration can be gauged by the hordes of imported revellers that descend at dusk. A good few can be found at Tangled. The club's clientele is unpretentious and modestly dressed.
What they lack in sparkling attire, however, is more than made up for by an unwavering willingness to drink loads, dance loads and scream at the top of their voices when the mood takes them.
Their DJs spin a heavy mixture of industrial house and Euro-inspired techno and trance. With residents Phil Morse, Terry Pointon, Herbie Saccani and Steve Thorpe moving the crowd as well as any hot-shot hired spinner, this is one event that needs to be inked in to your list when you're in the area.
