Tangled, we've covered before. Last time, they'd just moved from the UMIST students' union to The Thirsty Scholar, a no-frills, upstairs from a pub function room kind of venue. And this writer raved about it. The people, the atmosphere, but most of all the music - the verdict on all of the above was 'spot on'.In the next issue of Metropolis, we hinted that rumours were afoot they might be taking over Saturdays at the Boardwalk from Dave Haslam's legendary 'Freedom'. We were right. And now they've been there three months. So, what's the score now? Well I'll tell ya.
The song, basically, remains the same. This writer's going to rave about it again. Tangled continue to bring us the very best in pumping, happy, party house tunes. We aren't talking serious trainspotter underground. There's plenty of hands-in-the-air action here, but none that's of the 'oh, they're playing Judy Cheeks, I know what to do' variety - there's just 'Oh YEAH, don't know what this is, but what a breakdown!'.
Tangled continue to dispense with elitist door policies to promote a night where the only thing it's crucial to wear is a smile. Tangled continue to engender an atmosphere where every stranger is a friend you've yet to meet, an atmosphere more akin to a house party than a nightclub. Tangled continue to put on a night that's basically spot on.
