Thank the Lord for the temporary licensing deregulation order which, instated over the Millennium, now swings into action every New Year's Eve.
Any clubber - or drinker - will know how teeth-grindingly annoying it is to be pulled up mid-session by last orders. The prospect of eliminating the four-hour window between 2am and the vodka at the after-party is a welcome one.
If any club's conducive to a big one it's Tangled , and there's no night more appropriate for an all-out bender than NYE.
So, the scene has been partially set. But apart from the chance of a brandy as dawn breaks, what else do you get for your £20 at the Phoenix this year?
A third room has been incorporated, for starts, with sister classics night Decade and host, local favourite DJ Rascal, in charge of pounding out the old skool, house and trance.
The outstanding residents team will also, of course, be in attendance. And for the first time this year they'll be joined by guests, as northern breaks aficionados Koma and Bones drop in to room two, and live trance act Transa step up to whip the main room into a frenzy.
Expect a friendly, screwed up, sell-out stormer, with residents to please the diehards and something extra for new punters.
In other words, classic Tangled fun.
