Tangled continues to rise at the Phoenix

Having celebrated their tenth anniversary weekender some three weeks ago, you might have thought that Tangled would be lying low, still nursing a decade's worth of hangovers.

Think again. Tangled hasn't managed to maintain its perennial popularity by resting on its laurels, in fact the weekly's peerless stamina makes it the Duracell of the Manc clubbing world.

It comes then as no surprise to find that this Bank Holiday Tangled are back to unleash another full weekend's worth of wig-outery.

Saturday's session occurs in its regular format. Well, almost. Partly as a thank you to its most loyal followers and equally as much an antidote to the increased door charges imposed by many of its peers over this holiday, the lads are putting on the whole night for free.

Residents Terry Pointon and Phil Morse will be holding court in the main room, playing contemporary trance and European house, whilst Stevie Thorpe continues to set a benchmark for Manchester's breaks community in the bar upstairs.

The very next day sees the latest instalment of the retrospectively minded Tangled: Decade, this time with fellow northern clubbing institution Golden sharing the stage in the form of longstanding resident Dean Wilson.

A hugely talented jock, Wilson hasn't played here in his hometown for quite some time, so this is an opportunity not to miss.

And if that wasn't enough to keep the Tangled team out of trouble, news reaches us that Phil Morse has decided to take part in the Trek The Inca Trail on 6 September, raising money for The National Deaf Children's Society.
